    By Robert Preidt. Green tea appears to inhibit the spread of prostate cancer in a number of ways, says a study in the Dec. 1 issue of Cancer Research. In research with mice, scientists from the University of Wisconsin and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland found green tea polyphenols target molecular pathways that control the proliferation and spread of prostate tumor cells. The polyphenols also inhibit the growth of blood vessels that feed prostate tumors. ...

    By taking a new chemotherapy drug, men with advanced, incurable cancer of the prostate can prolong their lives by several months, a new Canadian-led international study has found. Researchers believe the study could lead to a form of early chemotherapy, variations of which have already been proven effective in the treatment of breast, colon and lung cancer.

    Men treated for prostate cancer with a low risk of recurrence or disease progression can safely skip long-term hormone therapy if they receive higher dose radiation therapy, a new study shows. The Fox Chase researchers concluded that patients with intermediate-risk prostate cancer do not need long-term androgen deprivation if they receive high-dose radiation--greater than 76 Gy.
